2019/20 Exam Performance Data

Given the disruptions to school examinations during the 2019/20 academic year we believe it is unfair to use the A-Level and GCSE results for this period to judge school performance. As there was an inconsistent approach amongst schools for determining Center Assessment Grades (CAGs) which inevitably resulted in inconsistent results.

Parents visit My Top Schools to identify the best performing schools and to enable this we must provide accurate data around school exam performance. Therefore we feel the exam results for 2018/19 provide the best means at this time to compare school performance as it is the last centrally audited set of grades.

My Top Schools appreciate some schools have made significant academic improvements over the past year which unfortunately cannot be objectively recognised with the most recent set of grades.

We look forward to updating the exam data for the independent schools on My Top Schools as soon as normal examination procedures resume. We expect this to be during the next academic year (2021/22).
